Ukrainians in Powys unite for a day of fun

Rhiannon reports

On Saturday, 12th July, a beautiful sunny day, a group of over 30 Ukrainian
adults and children now living in North and South Powys met to enjoy a day out near
Llandrindod Wells. First, a morning in Quackers Play Centre, then on to the
Lake Park. It was great to see everyone having such fun whether on the
slides or on the water… And there was also time to share experiences of
living in Powys as a refugee.

All agreed it was a very special outing and one worth repeating.

With special thanks to Newtown Dial a Ride and Carl the volunteer driver.
The trip was organised by Beacons for Ukraine in association with Hay,
Brecon and Talgarth Sanctuary for Refugees and funded by Powys County Council
Ukrainian Support team. Already other trips from the North have been
requested. Hopefully next stop the seaside!

And well done to Rhiannon whose perseverance made sure that this happened, negotiated favourable rates and the support of The Ukrainian support team.
