We will be holding a candlelight vigil during Brecon Cathedral’s Christmas Tree Festival to pray for, and raise awareness of, the plight of the Calais children.
The government has pledged that the UK will take in half of the unaccompanied children who were in the ‘Calais jungle’ camp when it was demolished by the French government. So far more than 300 have arrived, but more than 600 others are still waiting to be processed before they can make the journey.
The vigil will be to remember these children and raise awareness that the government needs to take action.
The vigil will take place at Brecon Cathedral on Monday, December 12 at 6pm. Please do join us!
The Diocese of Swansea and Brecon are also raising awareness of the vigil here.
