Minor update in December 2020– Currently we are not able to accept clothing or many other goods as we don’t have storage or ability to distribute as the groups we usually work with are also not working as they did. Below are details of what we used to do.

We are so grateful to all of the wonderful people and organisations in our local area (and beyond!) who have given us invaluable support since we started in September 2015.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of the people who have come to our stalls for more information, to all of the generous individuals who have donated to our cause, our Assembly Members, Town and County Councillors, the Churches and the amazing support from local groups and businesses in providing storage space, meeting space, funds and much more! Hay Castle for kindly offering us space for our first away day as well as offering some temporary sorting and storage space for the donations we have gratefully received for our collections.
Brecon Beacons National Park Authority for offering us some longer term storage in the past,hosting days at Craig y Nos and for offering IT support and re conditioned laptops from time to time..
Gwernyfed Rugby club for offering us space for our meetings. and hosting away days.
Treberfydd House for days out and fundraising
Brecon Rotary Club for a generous donation to help with provision of Christmas presents for refugee children, school boxes and transport. Also space at Brecon show to promote our group and ongoing help.
Hay Festival for 1. donating money following the Winter Weekend festivals and summer festivals. We are very grateful for these generous donations . 2. allowing us to collect at their very successful May literary festivals and donating some money from ticket returns raising a large sum which has allowed us to continue our work and support many other groups 3. providing a venue for a joint meeting of refugees groups from south Wales and PEN Cymru 4. allowing people seeking asylum in Swansea to act as stewards during the festival over the 4 ears 5. provision of free tickets to people seeking asylum or refuge and their supporters.
The Liberal Democrats Constituency Office in Brecon, St Mary’s Church in Hay on Wye and in the past the Guildhall in Brecon for being drop off points for donations (please get in touch with us first if you are able to help with any donations).
Brecon Foodbank who gave us over 170 kg of food to distribute at our second welcome day – our visitors were incredibly grateful. This generosity continues so we are able to give food to our visitors regularly.
Tŷ-Mawr in Brecon for kindly offering us storage space for donations since early 2016 and helping to host a respite day. This is our only storage area for the large amounts of donations and is very well used!
So many people for generously finding money, food, toiletries, clothing, blankets , accommodation and all the many other things that help us to help people here and abroad who are displaced and seeking sanctuary.
