We delivered about 10 bags of women’s, children’s and men’s clothing to the Cardiff Oasis centre on Wednesday and thanks to all who donated and also to my driver Jake [ above] who helped to unload and then did a quick tour of Cardiff.
Supporters Trevor and Julie delivered 5 bags of clothing to Swansea Unity in Diversity drop in centre this week as well.
These photos are from our sorting and packing store in Hay Castle. We have 7 kitchen welcome boxes, 6 welcome bedroom boxes 5 bathroom boxes ready to go to our store in Brecon Beacons national park and spare items that we can make available to people visiting on Away days or send to Swansea if requested.
We know that when Syrian families come to Powys that all basic household need will be met from the government funded scheme but we may then be able to provide if desired additional ‘luxury’ items such as TV, radio, additional bedding etc.
We will need to find English dictionaries, folders and file paper and pens and pencils to help Swansea English learners. We may also be able to help the Swansea Humanitarian Aid Response Project who are sending much needed aid to Calais, Dunkirk and Greece . They need tents, tarpaulins, camping gear, waterproofs and wellies. Any offers can be sent to our [email protected] and we will pass these on and arrange drop off points.
