Poetry Festival for Help Refugees

Knighton and District Refugee Support Group is raising money for ‘Help Refugees’ by holding a Poetry Marathon (a drop-in poetry and music festival) on the 9th September 2017 in Knighton, Powys.

The Knighton group has attracted some high quality published poets and musicians. There will be a bookstall, an exhibition and refreshments. The community market is open next door in the morning so people can even do their shopping! An interesting, enjoyable day from 11.00 to 21.00 is predicted. Anyone able to help steward for a few hours would be welcome.

Call in for as little or as long as you like to the welcoming Community Centre in Knighton, Mid Wales, to support people displaced by war and violence. Come to hear and see published Poets who are skilled in their use of words and look forward to sharing their poems with you. You can ask questions about their writing, its meaning and why they are helping to raise money for refugees and asylum seekers. Some of them will be interviewed on stage so that you can learn more about their work and motivations.
