We support the work of various groups working with refugees and asylum seekers. We are affiliated with City of Sanctuary. The support we have been able to offer has included inviting people seeking refuge or asylum  and volunteers from groups in Swansea, Cardiff and Newport to away days in our local area, collecting items such as clothes and household items and delivering these to Swansea,Newport , Pembrokeshire  and Cardiff as well as donating funds. We thank all of the groups we work with for their support of  our activities- Eg Newport County Football club [ tickets, boots,] Tools for Self Reliance Cymru [Sewing machines and garden tools] Drovers Cycles[ Bikes] Penpont House[ Days out] Treberfydd House [ days out and fundraising]

Unity in Diversity runs twice-weekly  drop in sessions sessions providing food, support and learning opportunities to asylum seekers and refugees in the Swansea area. Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, they have helped over 500 people of 40+ nationalities/ethnic origins over the years .

Swansea Bay Asylum Seekers Support Group  now known as  Swansea  Asylum Seekers Support was started by local people in 1999. Drop-ins began in 2001, and were organised by some of the first asylum seekers who arrived in Swansea.

Swansea City of Sanctuary is part of the national movement building a culture of hospitality and welcome, especially for individuals seeking sanctuary from war and persecution. The group has an integral volunteer base, and works with over 150 organisations, faith groups, institutions, local businesses, schools and individuals to make Swansea a safe, welcoming and hospitable place for those seeking sanctuary.

Share Tawe offers hospitality, in the form of accommodation, meals, welcome and solidarity to destitute asylum seekers in Swansea. The group does this through volunteers who offer a room in their home, or who support the scheme in other ways.

Swansea Humanitarian Aid Response Project (SHARP) was established in September 2015 and organises collections for refugees in Greece, The Middle East  and France.  We  regularly donate clothing and toiletries  to them .Their fundraising page can be seen here. and more details here

Newport Gap Sanctuary objectives are to provide support for refugees and asylum seekers to access mainstream services, to help develop and utilise skills through volunteering, to promote social inclusion and emotional well being through social activities and to reduce social exclusion by developing English language skills.  They run English classes for men and women, drop-in services offering help and advocacy, a Mums and Toddlers group, a Men’s games nights, provide a weekly meal, plus a number of other occasional social events and opportunities for asylum seekers and refugees throughout the year. Activities are open to people of all faiths (and none) and welcome participants from all around the world, from many different cultures and backgrounds. We have helped by providing some equipment, including football kit  and facilitating outings.

Oasis Cardiff is a center for Asylum seekers and Refugees that offers ESOL classes, employability workshops, dance classes, a women’s only area, mother and toddler groups and support with letters and phone calls regarding asylum and refugee issues. Oasis Cardiff also provide a safe space to come, relax, meet new people and share stories and experiences.

County of Sanctuary Pembrokeshire- set up to help with the people seeking asylum who are accommodated in Penally Camp. We have also donated to The Heart and to other groups helping these men.

TGP Cymru. has a young asylum seekers and refugee programme that offers Advocacy, Participation Group and consultation work, accessing volunteering opportunities, training and development of services and policy affecting young Asylum Seekers and Refugees up to the age of 25 in line with the views of service users.
