Thanks to everyone who has given so generously over the last few months. SHARP [Swansea Humanitarian Aid Response Project] was inundated with goods after the Caledonian Market in November in Brecon and so we didn’t deliver any further goods there until recently. Our kind drop off points of the Liberal Democrats Office in Brecon, Talgarth Library and St Mary’s Church have continued to accept donations and we have stored them at Ty Mawr Lime. We had over 300 Christmas presents to deliver as well as over 30 Reverse Advent calendars and most weeks we have sent an assortment of items with Mac to UID [ Unity in Diversity]. The Christmas presents went to UID, Swansea Asylum seekers support and The Sanctuary Newport. SHARP send clothing , bedding, medicines, toiletries etc to Calais, Greece and Syria with a variety of partners.
Our store after the first carload was taken and Gwernyfed tops ready to go to Greece and the aid mountain at SHARP
The store at Ty Mawr Lime had become very full and so Jonnie and Ailsa took a carload of clothing, nappies, toiletries and blankets down on 11th January and Hilary and Ailsa took a further carload on 18th January to SHARP.
The cars with goods on board and the Aid mountain being sorted…
The store looks much tidier thanks to Erica, Carola and Hilary sorting things out. Nigel and Joyce suggested we needed shelving and Gez and Sue put up the shelves which will make it far easier to keep order.
Mac continues to take collections of things down to UID [Unity in Diversity] when he visits to deliver IELTS lessons. These items have included board games, clothing, toiletries, sanitary towels and recently a number of colouring in books and paper. These were enthusiastically received. UId would be very grateful for any spare Tech stuff such as smart phones, laptops, tablets etc. These can be mended if needed but functioning equipment is so much more welcome.
An assortment of good including board games, crayons and colouring books.
